Frequently asked

How does Lullay work across multiple devices?

Lullay turns several Apple devices into one connected soundscape. One device leads the session and the others join it. The sound layers of a scene — rain, birds, distant thunder — are spread across the connected devices so the sound surrounds you.

Devices connect directly to each other over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi using Apple’s peer-to-peer technology. No internet connection or account is required. For best results, keep the devices in the same room and make sure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are switched on.

It’s stuck on “Connecting…” and never joins.

The most common cause is the Local Network permission. The first time you opened Lullay, iOS asked to let it “find and connect to devices on your local network.” If Don’t Allow was tapped — on either device — that device can’t see or be seen by the others, and the join quietly fails.

To fix it, on every device you want in the session:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Lullay.
  3. Turn on Local Network.

Then reopen Lullay on all devices and start the session again. iOS only shows that permission prompt once, so if it was dismissed the first time, this is where you switch it back on.

If Local Network is already allowed everywhere, also check:

  1. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are turned on for every device (they don’t need to be on the same Wi-Fi network, but both radios must be enabled).
  2. The devices are close together, ideally in the same room — thick walls or distance can weaken the direct connection.
  3. Every device is running the latest version of Lullay from the App Store.
  4. None of the devices are in Low Power Mode, which can interfere with the connection.

If it still won’t connect, email us and let us know which devices and iOS versions you’re using.

The sound is out of sync between devices.

A small amount of overlap between devices is expected and part of the ambient effect. If the timing drifts noticeably, keep the devices in the same room, avoid putting one to sleep or covering its screen, and make sure none of them are low on battery or in Low Power Mode, which can throttle audio.

What is the Welcome Fortnight?

New listeners get full access to everything in Lullay for fourteen nights, free. No payment card is required and nothing bills automatically — when the fortnight ends, Lullay simply continues as the free Lullay Lite unless you choose to subscribe or buy the lifetime licence. You’ll never be charged without an explicit purchase.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. To view, change, or cancel a subscription:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
  3. Select Lullay and choose to change your plan or cancel.

Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

I bought Lullay on another device — how do I restore it?

Open Lullay, go to the settings within the app, and choose Restore Purchases. Make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used for the original purchase. Your lifetime licence and Family Pack are tied to that Apple Account.

Do I need an internet connection to use Lullay?

No. All sounds are stored on your device, so once the app is installed everything plays offline. An internet connection is only used to download the app and to process purchases through the App Store.

Can I use Lullay with just one device?

Yes. Multi-device is what makes Lullay special, but every scene also plays beautifully on a single iPhone or iPad. Add more devices whenever you like for a more immersive, surrounding sound.
